"Diagnose Your Own Problem"

You know, we've figured something out. Most people are leery about transmission shops.  OK, maybe it's "You don't know which transmission shop to trust.  So, you ask a mechanic, or better, a mechanic who's a friend and you find out that - when it comes to transmissions - he's in the same boat!  With over 3,000 parts in an automatic transmission, it takes someone who knows transmissions to help.

Now, I could go in to how many mechanics take their personal cars to us for repair, but let's just get right to it... There's nothing on this site that won't help you make a better decision about your transmission - no matter where you end up taking your car.

The "Diagnose Your Own Problem" link above, for example is a simple test everyone should do before they pick up the phone.  In 3 minutes, it can help you determine the likelihood of your problem being minor (hundreds $$), major (thousands), or a computer malfunction (with us: $0).

So, please, use the information here.  If you need any help at all (in some cars it's hard to even find the transmission dipstick) or you're not aware of your particular car's check requirements (some cars you check while running in Neutral, some while in Park, a couple you check with the motor off!); call us and we'll tell you how to do it over the phone.

In the meantime, educate yourself with the other links starting on the "Diagnose Your Own Problem" page - it's information you can actually use...
